What is an extended wheelchair ramp for homes?
While standard wheelchair ramps typically measure up to under 7FT in length, our newly launched extended wheelchair ramp ranges from 8 foot wheelchair ramp to 10ft wheelchair ramp.
This extended design significantly enhances the ramp’s height capacity, making it suitable for a wider variety of use cases and settings.
Is an extended wheelchair ramp simply a longer version of a standard ramp?
To accommodate temporary wheelchair ramp for higher stairs and steps for elderly,we have increased the length of the wheelchair ramp.
However, this is not just a matter of extending the ramp.
1.These support legs significantly improve the ramp’s load-bearing capacity and stability.
When the ramp is lengthened, the points where the ramp bears weight change. Relying solely on the headboard and tailboard to support the extended ramp may cause the ramp to sag in the middle during use, compromising safety.
To address this issue, we have incorporated support legs into the design of the extended ramp.
2. We have enhanced the ramp's head and tailboards .
(1)Increasing the contact area with the ground.
(2)The surface area of the reinforced rubber pads on the back.
Motivation for selling extended metal handicap ramps
Typically,Aluminum ramps longer than 8ft require custom manufacturing from specialized ramp companies, which can be inconvenient for many consumers.
1.Customization often leads to longer delivery times, making it difficult for those with urgent needs to obtain the ramp.
2.Customized ramps are usually more expensive, which may deter potential buyers.
To address these issues, we are offering the extended ramp for retail to lower the price and make it more accessible to a broader range of consumers.
How to Use the Extended Wheelchair Ramp
The ramp you receive will not be pre-assembled but requires some assembly.
However, don’t worry—it's a simple process. You can complete the assembly in just a few easy steps:
Usage Precautions:
1.Ensure that all screws and components are securely fastened.
2.Verify that the weight being used does not exceed 300 kg.This wheelchair ramp to go over 3 to 4 steps easily.
3.Sub-support feet are required if there is some weight applied to the ramp when using the ramp. Before use, the sub-support feet should have at least 1"-1.6"(2.5-4cm) clearance from the ground, not less than 1"(2.5cm). This allows the support legs to make full contact with the surface when pressure is applied, creating the appropriate counterforce.
4.Be cautious not to pinch your hands when folding the ramp. If possible, wearing gloves is recommended to avoid injury.
